Report: Sunderland make second approach for Khouma Babacar

Sunderland Stadium of Light

Sunderland, Crystal Palace and West Ham all want to sign Khouma Babacar.

Sunderland have made a second approach for Khouma Babacar, TMW reports.

The Black Cats are keen to bring him to the Premier League, and have already had one offer accepted by Fiorentina for the striker’s services.

CalcioMercato claimed last week that Babacar rejected a switch to the Stadium of Light as he only wants to move to a ‘big club’, but clearly Sam Allardyce believes he can be convinced to move to the North East on England before the end of this month.

They have made a second approach of £11.4m, which was the same offer put forward to La Viola last week.

There is no indication in the report that the offer has been accepted, but it would be strange to see Fiorentina reject an offer of the same value as the one they accepted last week.

The decision still rests upon Babacar, and it is not yet known whether he is looking to move to Sunderland after already rejecting them.

The Black Cats are also facing rival interest from the Premier League, with Gazzetta World claiming Crystal Palace want the striker, and TMW indicating interest from Spurs and West Ham.
