Wolves have had a £3 million offer for Emiliano Sala rejected by Nantes, L’Equipe reports.
The Championship club are hoping to sign the 25-year-old striker, but Nantes have no intention of selling a player they only signed in the summer from Bordeaux.
Sala has netted just two goals in 15 Ligue 1 games, but Nantes view him as an important part of their side. Even a bid of £3 million is not enough to convince them, despite Sala only being signed for £700,000 in the summer - as reported by transfermarkt.
A statement published by the club in the report reads: “This is not about money. He's only been here six months. We need him.”
Sala was viewed by Kenny Jackett as a replacement for Benik Afobe, who has linked up with Bournemouth, but he has missed out on the striker so far.
There are no indications as to whether the Championship side are preparing a larger offer for Sala, although Nantes have made it clear that the money is not important.
With just over a week of the transfer window left, Jackett may move onto other targets to ensure a new forward is brought in before the end of this month.
