The youngster has struggled to impress at Villa Park this season.
The highly rated youngster has fallen far down the pecking order at the club this season, and is struggling to get regular game time under manager Remi Garde.
He currently finds himself behind Jordan Veretout and Carlos Gil in the Frenchman’s plans, leading to him being uncertain about his role in the side.
That situation has left him similarly unsure about his long-term future at the club, with him likely to seek talks in the summer if the current situation doesn’t improve, reports the Daily Mail.
For now though, his short-term future remains at the club, with Garde keen to keep him in his first team squad as they seek an unlikely escape from relegation in the 16 games remaining.
The Frenchman is hoping that the youngster can rediscover the kind of form that saw him garner praise as the Villains escaped relegation under Sherwood last season.
There is no denying they could do with a spark of inventiveness from somewhere, as they currently sit bottom of the table and ten points from safety after 22 games.
