Paul Clement responds when asked if Derby County are interested in Marcus Olsson from Blackburn Rovers

Marcus Olsson has been said to be on Derby County's wishlist for the January transfer window.

Paul Clement has denied Derby County are on the verge of signing Marcus Olsson from Blackburn Rovers in the Derby Telegraph.

There have been suggestions that Olsson is close to a move to Derby, but Clement has denied that a transfer is imminent.

The former Real Madrid assistant manager insists that he is happy with his options on the left hand side of his defence, with Stephen Warnock and Chris Baird currently battling it out for a place in the starting line up.

"We are as we are – no news regarding ins," he said.

"Stephen Warnock is doing well at left-back and we have Chris Baird to cover in that position.

"We have a full complement of players, so we are in a good position. I am happy with that as we stand.”

Clement has previously suggested that Derby would not be bringing in any more players in January, following the additions of Abdoul Camara from Angers and Nick Blackman from Reading.

However, the Rams’ form has dipped in recent weeks, and that has led to reports emerging saying that they could be set to try and bring further quality to the iPro Stadium.

Derby are currently in third place in the Championship table, with their next fixture coming against fellow promotion chasers, Burnley, on Monday night.
