The Dutch international striker is now banging in the goals at PSV Eindhoven.
In January 2014 Newcastle United snapped up a striker to help them find some goals in the final stretch of the season.
The man in question was loan signing Luuk De Jong from Borussia Monchengladbach, who had not scored a goal since 13th April 2013.
In the end his loan spell came to an end and he failed to score during his time at Newcastle United. He played 12 times for the Toon without managing to find the back of the net.
Since the summer of 2014 he has gone on to become a clinical goalscorer back in Holland with PSV Eindhoven and his brother Siem has ended up at Newcastle United.
Speaking about that coincidence Luuk told FIFA.com this week that he dreams of playing with his brother, and that it was unfortunate they didn't play at Newcastle together:
"It’s always been a dream for us to play at the same club but, yeah, it hasn’t really worked out so far. It was Newcastle’s choice not to renew my loan, so it’s not like it was my decision to leave just before my brother arrived.
"But the move to PSV was perfect for me, so I definitely can’t complain. And hopefully Siem and I will have that chance in the future."
Of course Siem has not exactly had much luck at Newcastle either. The 2014 signing from Ajax has suffered with serious injuries in his time at St James' Park including a torn groin, collapsed lung and a lacerated eye.
Hopefully he can soon come good at Newcastle, so he is not forever remembered in the same bracket as his younger brother
