West Ham will take on City at the Boleyn Ground in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
Barnes has backed the Citizens to register a 3-1 victory in London and has predicted on Titanbet.co.uk: “I can’t see a repeat of West Ham’s win at Man City here, as I think Manuel Pellegrini’s side just have too much about them. Goalscorer – Sergio Aguero.”
Former Aston Villa and Everton striker Andy Gray has also backed Manuel Pellegrini’s side to pick up all three points from the encounter courtesy of a 3-1 win.
“If this was being played in the Etihad it’s an easy City win,” Gray has written on Paddypower.com. “Their away form has been shocking, but it’s getting better. They had a nice win at home last week but they do need to string a couple of away wins together.
“West Ham have Dimitri Payet back and have been in good form barring that loss at Newcastle. I’m going for the cream to rise to the top though. Sergio Aguero is getting back to his best form again, he could’ve had a hat trick last week, so back him to open the scoring.”
A footnote added: “Andy’s bet: Man City to win 3-1 12/1.”
City have the better squad, but West Ham are a good team and have a certain Dimitri Payet.
The France international attacking midfielder has been one of the best players in the Premier League so far this season, and he will be looking to steer his side to victory over City.
Playing at home will give the Hammers an advantage, but they cannot afford to concede an early goal.
City are superb going forward, and if they score first, then they could go on to add one or two more and take the game beyond Slaven Bilic’s side.
