Former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers said on the Goals on Sunday show on Sky Sports 1 on Sunday afternoon (January 17) that he has been impressed with Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino.
“He has done very, very well,” said Rodgers. “Mauricio did a good job at Southampton. The first year into Tottenham it was really just about getting his ideas onto the team. The second year they are playing very, very well.”
Pochettino has been very successful in the Premier League so far and has to be considered as one of the very best in the English top flight at the moment.
The Argentine did a great job at Southampton, guiding the Saints to an eighth-placed finish in the league in the 2013-14 season.
The former Espanyol boss was then appointed the Tottenham head coach, and he led the North London outfit to fifth in the league last season.
Spurs are very much in the running for a top-four spot in the Premier League this campaign and could even win the league title.
Pochettino has built a squad in his own image and has the players that he wants. The likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Eric Dier have all flourished under the 43-year-old, and Spurs fans every reason to be optimistic this season.
