Spanish football expert Guillem Balague is adamant Pep Guardiola will be the next Manchester City manager.
The Spaniard is to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season when his three year contract expires and intends to move to the Premier League.
The exact destination has not yet been revealed, but Balague is so confident it will be Manchester City he has been expressed confidence when it will be announced, explaining why it has not been done yet.
He told SkySports: "Why would United meet the next City manager?
“So not true Pep met United. He has agreed to join City but hasnt signed yet. That'll happen when Bayern-City is not possible in the CL.”
It had been claimed Manchester United officials had met with the Spaniard this week, but The BBC reported this morning that the Red Devils had denied this was the case.
Manchester City have a favourable draw in the Champions League last 16, facing Dynamo Kiev. Bayern have a tricky task, taking on last year's finalists, Italian side Juventus.
The two teams could potentially be drawn against each other if both successful, and current City boss Manuel Pellegrini would surely be increasingly determined to be victorious and prove a point to his current, any potentially any future, employers.
