Roger Riera has announced on Twitter that he is leaving Nottingham Forest.

Roger Riera has announced on social networking site Twitter that he is leaving Nottingham Forest.

The youngster has posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, thanking Forest and wishing the Reds all the best for the future.

Forest duo Jorge Grant and Matty Cash have responded to Riera’s message on Twitter.

Riera joined Forest in the summer of 2014 when he was just 19 years of age and was expected to be a success at the City Ground.

The youngster was expected to progress through the youth team to the senior side, but he failed to make the transition.

The Spaniard arrived at Forest with a strong reputation, having won the UEFA Youth Champions League with Barcelona, but things did not go according to plan.

Forest are 12th in the Championship table at the moment with 35 points from 27 matches. Dougie Freedman’s side are 10 points behind Sheffield Wednesday, who are currently sixth in he standings and occupy the final playoff spot.
