Former West Ham United midfielder Kevin Nolan has been appointed player-manager at Leyton Orient.

West Ham United fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to have their say on the appointment of Kevin Nolan as Leyton Orient’s player-manager.

Nolan, who has also played for Bolton Wanderers and Newcastle United, has joined Orient as player-manager on a two-and-a-half-year contract.

The 33-year-old midfielder had been without a club since the summer of 2015 when he left West Ham.

The Englishman played for the Hammers for four years from 2011 until 2015, helping them establish themselves in the Premier League.

Orient are 11th in the League Two table at the moment with 37 points from 26 matches. The O’s are just three points behind Wycombe Wanderers, who are currently seventh in the standings and occupy the final playoff spot.

Nolan’s first game in charge of Orient will be on Saturday afternoon when they take on Wycombe away from home at Adams Park.
