Perryman said: “You have to say, from a business point of view, Tottenham are being run very well since Mr Levy has been in charge. I judge it by how they treat the old players, which you would think is nailed on, but isn’t always [at other clubs]. Everything is positive, we’ve got lots of young English players.”
Levy has often come under criticism for his running of Tottenham, as he is fairly frugal in relation to other Premier League chairmen, and has made some questionable decisions over his career.
However, since the appointment of Mauricio Pochettino as head coach, it is hard to disagree with a single decision that Levy has made, and he looks to be doing all he can to establish Spurs as one of the biggest clubs in England and Europe.
He is actively behind the club’s new stadium being built, and has helped build a strong first-team playing squad who are competing for the Premier League title.
However, Perryman has explained the reason he can tell Levy is running the club correctly, as the chairman ensures that the old players - such as Perryman himself - are treated correctly.
Ex-stars of the North London club are always welcomed back to White Hart Lane, and there is quite a contingent of other former players in and amongst the coaching staff.
Perryman has high praise for Levy, and it appears as if the chairman has done enough this season to ease the pressure that was growing on his head.
