Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly interested in signing Emiliano Sala from Nantes in the January transfer window.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing Emiliano Sala from FC Nantes in the January transfer window, according to L’Equipe.

It has been reported by the French publication that Sala could be sold for €4 million (£3.06m) to Wolves this month.

Sala joined Nantes from Bordeaux in the summer of 2015 and has a contract until June 2020.

The 25-year-old forward has scored two goals and created 18 chances in 15 Ligue 1 appearances for Nantes so far this season.

The Argentine has a pass accuracy of 68% and a shot accuracy of 30%, and has won 26 headers, 15 dribbles and six tackles.

Nantes are 11th in the Ligue 1 table at the moment with 28 points from 21 matches, seven points above the relegation zone and just six points behind third-placed Angers.

Meanwhile, Wolves are currently 10th in the Championship table with 37 points from 27 matches, eight points behind Sheffield Wednesday, who are currently sixth and occupy the final playoff spot.
