Report: West Ham United reject chance to sign trialist Reece Brown

Birmingham City FC - St. Andrews

The England under-20 international has returned to Birmingham City.

West Ham United recently tied up the signing of a talented young player from the Championship after Sam Byram finalised a permanent switch to the club from Leeds United.

However it appears they have rejected the chance to sign another player of this ilk.

The club have had Birmingham City youngster Reece Brown on trial in recent weeks. The 19-year-old midfielder has been making waves at Birmingham City and is considered a top talent. An England under-20 international, Brown has previously been on loan at Notts County.

West Ham therefore decided to give him a tryout but, according to London 24, they have decided that Brown did not do enough to earn a contract at Upton Park.

The same report claims that Manchester City and Bournemouth are now speaking to the 19-year-old about his future at St Andrews.

Brown will now return to Birmingham and hope to force his way into regular first-team contention. The teenager has played just two times for the club this season, with his last appearance coming against Charlton Athletic back in November.
