Celtic are still looking to sign a striker before the end of the January transfer window.
Celtic are on the lookout for a new striker this month, the Daily Record reports.
The Bhoys have already brought in defender Erik Sviatchenko, and the report indicates that Ljuban Crepulja is also set to sign with the Scottish giants in the coming days.
However, Ronny Deila is not finished with his transfer business, and the report claims that signing a new striker is still at the front of the head coach’s thoughts.
He wants to provide realistic competition for Leigh Griffiths, who has been in excellent form this season. Despite Griffiths excelling in front of goal, neither Nadir Ciftci or Carlton Cole are adequate back-ups, and Deila wants a player to take some of the pressure of Griffiths’ shoulders.
The report claims that no offers have yet been made for any attackers, but Kolbeinn Sigthorsson and Mohamed Elyounoussi are both targets of Deila.
Sigthorsson is Iceland’s first-choice striker and has scored two goals in 16 games with Ligue 1 Nantes.
Elyounoussi plays for Molde of Norway, and has been capped five times by the nation. He is less of a natural striker, but can play in that central role, and has managed seven goals in 11 games this term.
