Aston Villa are closing in on the signing of Lovre Kalinic, Alfredo Pedulla reports.
The Italian journalist has claimed that the Croatian international goalkeeper is set to travel to the Midlands today, ahead of undergoing his medical tomorrow.
Personal terms have been agreed between Remi Garde’s side and the keeper, and the medical should be completed with no problems.
The only other issue that remains is the need for a work permit, with the 25-year-old not yet allowed to play in the Premier League.
A deal is close to being completed for his signing, but Kalinic is not an obvious contender for a work permit, and Villa will have to fight hard for an agreement.
Should Kalinic be granted a work permit, Villa will confirm his signing before the end of the day tomorrow, with the Croatian stopper set to be available for Villa’s Premier League tie against West Brom this weekend.
