Former Chelsea and Manchester United midfielder Ray Wilkins said on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Thursday morning (January 21) that he was impressed with Nabil Bentaleb’s performance for Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday evening.
Bentaleb started the FA Cup third-round replay against Leicester City away from home at the King Power Stadium and played for the entire 90 minutes.
The Algeria international midfielder played well against the Foxes, as Spurs registered a 2-0 win to book their place in the fourth round of the prestigious competition.
“I thought Bentaleb last night actually ran the game,” said Wilkins on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Thursday morning (January 21).
“I thought he was outstanding. His passing range was superb. His positional sense was fantastic. I think he is terrific.”
Bentaleb had a brilliant season on a personal level in 2014-15, but his progress has been stunted this campaign due to injury.
The 21-year-old has been able to make just four appearances in the Premier League for Tottenham this term, creating two chances in the process.
The youngster has a pass accuracy of 79% and a shot accuracy of 50%, and has won five headers, one dribble and one tackle.
