HITC Sport understands Wolves have won the race for Newport starlet.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have agreed a deal for Newport County forward Aaron Collins, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Collins is regarded as one of the most exciting young talents in the Football League and a number of clubs have been tracking his progress.
The likes of Manchester United and Newcastle United have been credited with an interest in Collins after sending scouts to watch the player in action.
Burnley made a bid to sign Collins during the summer transfer window, but Newport were able to keep hold of the 18-year-old.
Collins impressed against Wolves in the Capital One Cup earlier this season and Kenny Jackett and his scouting staff have been monitoring his situation ever since.
Collins broke into the Newport side last season, making three appearances and he has gone on to make 22 appearances this term.
Wolves are in the market for striking reinforcements during this month's transfer window having sold top scorer Benik Afobe to Bournemouth.
Wolves have agreed a fee in the region of £100,000 with Newport for Collins and the teenager has already passed a medical at Molineux to become their latest signing.
