Interest mounts in former Manchester City youngster Razak

HITC Sport understands former the Manchester City man is keen to find himself a new club.

Former Manchester City midfielder Abdul Razak is a target for a number of clubs across Europe, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the potential deal.

Razak remains a free agent after leaving Doncaster Rovers at the end of last season, following a short-term deal at the club.

The 23-year-old came through the ranks at Manchester City, making five first-team appearances for the club before leaving for a move to Russia with Anzhi Makhachkala in 2013.

The defensive midfielder failed to settle in Russia and joined West Ham in January 2014, but left without playing a game for the Hammers with work permit issues preventing him from signing a long-term deal at Upton Park.

Razak joined OFI Crete soon after linking up with Italy World Cup winner Gennaro Gattuso, but once the Italian left midway through the season he found himself out of favour.

The African secured a move to Doncaster last January and he made nine appearances for the League One side.

Razak is keen to fix himself with a new club as soon as possible as he wants to try to win his place back for the Ivory Coast having won five caps for his country to date.

Razak has already turned down an offer from Sweden and the player is weighing up his options with several English clubs keeping tabs on his situation.
