The Dutch international has been out of action since October.
Newcastle United have been struck by injury problems in the goalkeeping department for the past 18 months.
Tim Krul struggled with injury issues last term and this season appears to be over for the Dutchman.
He suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury whilst playing for Holland in October and had to undergo surgery on the problem.
Rob Elliot has stepped up admirably in place of the Newcastle veteran but there is no doubt that fans at St James' Park will be hoping to see him back in action soon.
Today the stopper took to Twitter to send a message to his fans on #ThrowbackThursday. He was looking back whimsically at himself in full flow, but had no update on his current injury status - although did tease that an update was on the way:
At the moment it seems that Krul is likely to be out for the season, which gives a platform for Elliot to continue impressing in the first-team.
Hopefully the giant Dutchman is recovering well from his injury, but do not expect to see him again in 2015-16.
