Could the Barcelona player be on his way to Newcastle United?
Predominantly a centre forward Sandro can also play on either flank if required (as he has for the most part this season) and given his lack of game-time at the Nou Camp it would be no surprise to see him move on, especially when his release clause is just £9million.
Sandro has also been heavily linked with Tottenham Hotspur so it is an interesting twist that Newcastle are reportedly turning their attention to the Spaniard having allegedly given up in their pursuit of Spurs winger Andros Townsend.
Sandro have featured 31 times for Barcelona’s senior side, scoring seven goals and providing two assists in the process.
He has also played 61 times for their B squad and has 15 goals and four assists at that level.
Newcastle have already added Jonjo Shelvey and Henri Saivet to their squad during the January transfer window but more talent in attacking areas would certainly not go amiss.
It is being claimed Newcastle will pursue a loan deal for the player rather than paying his release-clause from the outset.
