HITC Sport understands Leyton Orient are eyeing a move for the League One defender.
New Leyton Orient player-manager Kevin Nolan could make Rochdale defender Ashley Eastham his first signing since taking charge of the club, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Former West Ham and Newcastle star Nolan was confirmed as Ian Hendon's replacement at Leyton Orient on Thursday as the League Two club look to get their promotion bid back on track.
Orient are keen to bolster their squad in this month's transfer window with the side sitting in 11th spot in the table, just two points outside the play-off places.
Highly-rated centre-back Eastham has emerged as one of Orient's top targets as they look to strengthen their defensive options and they have made a bid for his services.
However, Orient could face competition for Eastham's signature with a number of League One clubs also weighing up moves for the 24-year-old.
Eastham joined Rochdale in 2013 after leaving Blackpool and he helped the club win promotion to League One in his first season at the club.
Eastham in the final six months of his contract at Rochdale and although Rochdale are keen to keep the defender they are bracing themselves for further interest in the defender before the close of the transfer window.
