Liverpool booked their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup at the second time of asking thanks to a 3-0 win over Exeter City at Anfield.
It was a very positive night for Jurgen Klopp and his side as he made several changes again to give some of his youngsters and fringe players an opportunity to shine and they did not disappoint.
The Reds had to wait a little while for the second goal through substitute Sheyi Ojo as he got off the mark for the Reds in fine style with a left-footed finish. Joao Carlos Teixeira also managed to get his first goal for the club on a very positive night for the side, which also saw Jon Flanagan make his long-awaited return from a persistent knee injury.
West Ham United await Liverpool in the next round of the competition at Anfield but the club's immediate attentions turn towards Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday lunchtime.
Some of the youngsters may be around the first team for that game, and may have given Klopp food for thought.
Here's how that side rated:
Simon Mignolet - A quiet night for the Belgian and he'd happily take many more of them as he celebrates his new contract. Most notable thing he did was a quick, long throw-out to start a counter-attack. Something which we've not seen much of from him - N/A
Connor Randall - We've become accustomed to a slow start from Randall but there was none of that tonight. He acquitted himself well and looked solid, even when Exeter did try and target him at times - 6
Tiago Ilori - A composed performance, much improved on the first game, and covered well whenever the side looked a little short in defence - 7
Jose Enrique - Talked a lot, still a little unsure in his unnatural central defensive role but better than first game in first half - 6
Brad Smith - Showed he's a threat going forward with the goal, solid at the back. His performances are consistent and he's probably coming more into Klopp's thinking when it comes to other games - 7
Kevin Stewart - Broke up play well, covered a lot of ground, looked a little vulnerable when pressed but good display - 7
Joe Allen - Given that he's Liverpool's top scoring central midfielder from open play, is time for a more regular place? His early withdrawal indicates there could be more game time in the pipeline for Allen. Nicely taken goal - 7
Cameron Brannagan - Went close to scoring twice, pressed well, controlled proceedings. Looks as though there is a bit of class about him. - 7
Joao Carlos Teixeira - Classy looking player, good display, nicely taken goal, there's not much more to say. Fans would like to see him have more game time. - 7
Jordon Ibe - Looked lively and was unlucky not to score after rattling the woodwork but sometimes decision making let him down at times - 6
Christian Benteke - Actually had some decent service in the first half and should've taken one of the chances. Maybe tried too hard to look busy and linked well at times, did very well for Teixeira's strike but confidence seems to have taken a knock - 6
Jon Flanagan - It's just nice to see him back, can tell he hasn't lost his very good reading of the game - 6
Sheyi Ojo - Lovely finish for his goal, lively display. I was taken aback by how much presence he offers - 7
Pedro Chirivella - Nice and tidy cameo. Slotted intp the midfield nicely - 6
