Manager Carlos Carvalhal has revealed at his press conference this afternoon that Rhoys Wiggins has asked to leave Sheffield Wednesday.
Wiggins only joined the Owls in the summer transfer window from Charlton Athletic, but he has struggled to make an impression at Hillsborough.
The Welsh defender has played just nine times for Carvalhal’s side, and he is now keen to move elsewhere in the search of more regular action.

Wiggins' chances of playing at Wednesday look even more unlikely following the arrival of Joe Bennett from Aston Villa.
Bennett has joined Wednesday on loan until the end of the season, making the competition for places at the Yorkshire side even more fierce.
Wiggins is of proven Championship quality, and it has seemingly not taken long for clubs to register an interest in him after learning of the defender’s potential availability.
The Sheffield Star suggests that both Brighton & Hove Albion and Bristol City want Wiggins, and the pair could make an offer in the coming days.
