Roberto Martinez has told the Liverpool Echo that Everton defender Ramiro Funes Mori is an 'extra weapon' for his side.
Funes Mori joined Everton in the summer transfer window, and he has a good goalscoring record, despite being a defender.
The Argentine is a real threat from set-pieces, and he scored his third goal of the campaign against Chelsea last weekend.
“It is an extra bonus and an extra weapon,” Martinez said.
“You want that goal-scoring threat from all over the park and our full-backs are always capable of scoring from open play and we now have centre-halves who have a real presence in the box and dead-ball situation are important.
“Ramiro’s power and clinical touch are important and to score three goals already, and especially in big games and big environments, that is a mentality side.”
Everton have had no problems scoring this season, with goals coming from every area of their squad.
Martinez’s side appear to be one of the most dangerous attacking teams in the Premier League, but they have had problems at the other end of the pitch.
Everton have simply conceded far too regularly to be successful, and unless they tighten up at the back this season could be a disappointment.
The Toffees are currently in 11th place in the Premier League table, with their next match coming against Swansea City.
