QPR had bid to take the 19-year-old until the end of the season, but the youngster has now impressed Guus Hiddink, after his showings for the London club’s under-21 side.
In a strange coincidence, Musonda was playing in a match against QPR’s development squad yesterday and he scored in the fixture.
His brilliant performance has convinced Hiddink that he could have a first team future, and he is now set to train with Chelsea’s senior squad.
Musonda’s try-out in the first team is expected to last for a week, leaving QPR to have to wait to see if their loan bid has been success.
If Musonda does join QPR in the near future he will become their second signing of the January transfer window, following the arrival of Conor Washington from Peterborough United yesterday.
