Report: Leeds flop Habib Habibou looking for transfer; Nottingham Forest interested

Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest are looking at former Leeds United flop Habib Habibou.

Nottingham Forest are considering making a move for Habib Habibou of Rennes, L’Equipe reports.

The attacker is disappointed with his lack of game time this season, having played just seven minutes of Ligue 1 action, and he is pushing for a move.

The 28-year-old is open to any offers which are submitted to him, and Forest are one of three teams said to be tracking his services. The Championship team are rivalling Turkish club Gaziantespspor and Israeli side Hapoel Tel Aviv.

Gaziantespspor are the only side to make a formal offer as of yet, having submitted a loan bid with the option to purchase at the end of the season, but the other two teams are ready to push through with their moves this week.

Habibou is best known in England for a period he spent with Leeds United, when he signed on loan in the 2012/13 season. The striker arrived with a good goal record, but managed just four appearances for the Whites, starting only one Championship game.

He failed to score a single goal, and not surprisingly, Leeds did not take up the option to sign him permanently.

However, Forest are ready to make a move for Habibou knowing that he is looking for an exit from Ligue 1.
