Report: Crystal Palace and Norwich City enter race for Seydou Doumbia

Crystal Palace, Norwich, Sunderland and Leicester all want Roma’s Seydou Doumbia.

Crystal Palace and Norwich City have entered the race to sign Seydou Doumbia, TMW reports.

The Roma striker has also been linked with Sunderland, Leicester and Swansea, with the Daily Mail claiming earlier this week that the Premier League trio wanted to bring him to England this month.

Now Palace and Norwich have entered the race for the forward, and they are lining up moves to bring him to the Premier League in the coming days.

The Mail report claimed that Roma will sell the striker, who can also play on both wings, for a £10 million fee as they are looking to get him off their books this month.

He is no longer wanted at the Serie A side, and he spent the first half of this season on loan with former side CSKA Moskva, scoring 11 goals in 21 games across all competitions - including three in six in the Champions League.

Doumbia built his reputation with CSKA, and he has now managed 95 goals in 150 games for the Russian giants.

Despite his impressive record, Roma are no longer willing to keep him around, and the 28-year-old forward has been told to find a new club.

Capped 31 times by the Ivory Coast, it appears as if Doumbia could be heading to England for his next destination, although it is not stated that any formal offers have yet been submitted to Roma for his services.
