The attacking midfielder has been excellent for loan side Huddersfield Town recently.
Despite his obvious talent winger Jamie Paterson has not been able to get in the Nottingham Forest first-team of late. The former Walsall attacker had played just one Championship game for Forest this season when he was loaned out to Huddersfield Town for the season in September.
The 23-year-old had an up and down start to life with The Terriers with injury playing a big part in that.
Now he is fighting fit and has a manager that plays to his strengths however he is starting to fire on all cylinders.
Under the guidance of David Wagner he has been in great form.
He scored again yesterday, although Huddersfield would go on to lose the game 5-2 to Reading. That strike took his recent tally to three in four games but it is his all-round play that has Terrier fans purring.
It has even caused mixed opinion among Forest fans on Twitter.
Some believe he deserves a chance at the club. He is proving himself at the moment with the Yorkshire club and should be given a chance by Forest next season.
However others are not so keen. Some Forest fans do not believe Paterson will ever come good for them and that his future should lie at Huddersfield.
Here is a collection of tweets from last night's game...
#nffc I'd have paterson back. I probably wouldn't have let him go. He has talent. Just case of nurturing it. Reckon DF could do it— steve (@trickynffc) January 19, 2016
Paterson playing for a contract so plays well. Simple equation #nffc— Forest 24-7 (@Forest247blog) January 19, 2016
#nffc lavish you're praise for Jamie Paterson, but ask who's sent him out on loan for a season— Dave Garner (@Dave_Garner68) January 19, 2016
Still think it was a ridiculous decision to send Paterson out on loan #nffc— Owen mcdaid (@mcdaid_owen) January 19, 2016
No sure why everybody is talking about Paterson again, scored the odd goal at Huddersfield but did nothing for 18 months at forest— Martyn Scotton #nffc (@martynbigdog) January 19, 2016
