Luke Thomas has tweeted that he is ‘buzzing’ after signing for Derby County earlier today.
The 16-year-old has moved to Derby from Cheltenham Town, after impressing for the non-league side’s development squad this season.
Thomas has netted 19 goals throughout the campaign so far at under-21 and under-18 level, and he has developed a reputation as one of the finest talents at youth level in the country.
It is a big step up for Thomas, but he appears to be looking forward to getting started after his message on social media this afternoon.
Thomas did not make a senior appearance during his time at Cheltenham, but he was on the substitutes’ bench on a few occasions and will know he has to be patient before he gets a chance with the Rams.
The forward joins on the same day as Lewis Walker, who has moved to the iPro Stadium from Ilkestone.
