West Ham United’s and Leeds United’s supporters' reactions to Sam Byram’s move today have been very different on social media site Twitter.
The Hammers have completed the signing of Byram on a four-and-a-half year deal, after beating Everton to the right-back’s signature.
Byram is expected to challenge for a first team place in the Hammers' squad, as he looks to force James Tomkins out Slaven Bilic’s starting line up.
The 22-year-old has played regular football for the past four seasons, and West Ham fans are excited to see the youngster in action.
We've paid £7m in total for Cresswell and Byram hahahah absolute robbery— West Ham News (@WHUFC_News) January 20, 2016
Got a good feeling about Byram. Very chuffed with the signing. #whufc— Samuel Thorne (@SamuelJThorne) January 20, 2016
Leeds fans, on the other hand, are gutted to have some one of their key players leave Elland Road.
Byram has progressed through Leeds’ youth academy to become an integral player in their senior squad, and he joins a long list of talented players to leave Elland Road in recent times.
Leeds fans have wished Byram well for the future though, and they believe he will make an impact in the Premier League.
I for one will miss Sam Byram a lot and wish him all the best with a good west ham team. Shame he couldn't have stayed #lufc— Lucas Gibson (Gibbo) (@LucasG1998) January 20, 2016
Good luck to Byram, far too good for our team, let's just hope Cellino uses this money to rebuild the team and add QUALITY #lufc— Adam Bush (@adzybush) January 20, 2016
7 managers in 3 years, always selling our best players, no ambition and people say Byram's motivation was greed #lufc— Oscar (@OscarMaleham) January 20, 2016
