Sam Byram has left Leeds United today, finalising a move to West Ham United after a long-winded affair at Elland Road.
The right-sided operator has been excellent in recent weeks for Leeds but his contract negotiations have been poorly handled by the Yorkshire club.
With Byram only having a few months left on his contract Leeds have cashed in and West Ham have grabbed themselves a bargain.
For the players still at Leeds it is a big blow, they have lost a fabulous team-mate. However, for the many who have departed Leeds in the years since Byram first made his breakthrough today was a day to congratulate the young talent on his Premier League move.
Dominic Poleon was one of the first. The duo broke into the first-team at Leeds about the same time and the Oldham Athletic striker sent this message of support:
Congrats to my man Barry all the best in the Premier League #WelcomeToTheEast
