Liverpool welcome Exeter City to Anfield this evening for their FA Cup third round replay, after the first game ended 2-2 earlier in the month.
The Reds put out a much changed side on that occasion with plenty of young players given a run-out, but they were not able to overcome their League Two opponents who opened the scoring through Tom Nichols and went ahead a second time via a Lee Holmes corner.
However, Jerome Sinclair and Brad Smith saved Liverpool’s blushes and now they have the chance to put things right in their own backyard.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will not want to be the victim of a giant-killing in his first year in charge; certainly not so soon after their 1-0 defeat to fierce rivals Manchester United in the Premier League.
The FA Cup and the League Cup are Liverpool’s most likely chances of silverware this season and for that reason expect the Reds to be taking this one very seriously in front of their own fans.
