Former Tottenham midfielder Chris Waddle was delighted to see his former side see of Leicester City.
Leicester dumped Spurs out of the competition a year ago in the fourth round, and this season before last night they had been unbeaten in three league and cup games against the North London side.
Just one week ago Leicester stunned Spurs with a 1-0 smash and grab victory at White Hart Lane in the Premier League.
Last night they went to the King Power Stadium and won 2-0, without starting star striker Harry Kane.
Former attacker Chris Waddle was left feeling positive about the performance, commenting on Twitter that he felt they were getting back to their best.
Well done spurs great win strong squad injuries back looking fit coys— Chris waddle (@chriswaddle93) January 20, 2016
Waddle also commended scorer of the opening goal Heung-Min Son, adding that he simply wishes he can stay fit and contribute like he did last night, on a regular basis.
Looks like son great attitude just needs to stay fit ,— Chris waddle (@chriswaddle93) January 20, 2016
After the disappointing loss to the Foxes a week ago, Spurs have now bounced back emphatically, beating Sunderland 4-1 and now winning 2-0 at Leicester.
How far they go in terms of winning trophies this season remains to be seen, but their resilience is an impressive sign that the squad are blessed with steel as well as talent.
