HITC Sport understands a number of Championship clubs are chasing Norwich's Scotland international.
Norwich City defender Steven Whittaker is a target for a number of Championship clubs during this month's transfer window, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the potential deal.
Whittaker started the season as first-choice right-back starting eight Premier League games in the first few months of the season, scoring in the 3-1 win at Sunderland.
However, Whittaker has found himself frozen under Alex Neil in recent months and has not featured since the Capital One Cup defeat to Everton in October.
The Scotland international has found himself restricted to a role on the bench with Russell Martin switching from central defence to right-back.
The recent signing of Ivo Pinto from Dinamo Zagreb has also pushed Whittaker further down the pecking order and Norwich are thought to be willing to listen to offers for the former Rangers man as they feel they have enough options at full-back.
The news has alerted a number of clubs in the Championship to Whittaker's availability with the attacking full-back impressing last season in helping Norwich win promotion to the Premier League.
Leeds, Queens Park Rangers and Bristol City are all thought to be keeping tabs on Whittaker's situation and are weighing moves for the 31-year-old.
