As reported by the club’s official website, Norwich City have signed Timm Klose from Wolfsburg.
The Switzerland international has become Norwich’s fourth signing of the transfer window, yet as of today he could be construed as the most important by some distance.
The 6ft 4inch centre-back boasts plenty of experience, having featured heavily for Wolsburg over the past couple of years and even managing seven Bundesliga starts this term.
His decision to leave the German side may be as a result of wanting more regular playing time ahead of the European Championships this month, and Norwich will provide that.
However, their form on the road is a slight worry and their latest 3-0 defeat at Bournemouth illustrates how there is plenty of room for improvement from a defensive perspective.
Norwich have conceded 38 league goals this term – only fellow relegation rivals Newcastle United and Sunderland have conceded more hence why adding a new defender was so important this month.
Klose has the potential to make a huge difference for Alex Neil’s side, and writing on Twitter upon confirmation of his signing a number of supporters were naturally delighted with the deal.
What a signing Klose is. Hopefully he can help fire us to safety #ncfc— Henry Miller (@henryncfc2000) January 18, 2016
I still think the most likely partnership will be Bassong and Klose. Think Bennett has been watched through "anyone but Martin" specs. #ncfc— duncan edwards (@duncanedwards8) January 18, 2016
Really hope that it's Klose and Bennett as the central defensive partnership on Saturday. Buzzing for that signing #ncfc— Tim Scales (@tim_ncfc) January 18, 2016
Very pleased with the signing of Timm Klose. Seems to be a good character. He'll be crucial to us in the run in - needs to play well. #ncfc— Jimbob Hedgehog (@JamesFinbow) January 18, 2016
The more I read about Klose, the more optimistic I become. #ncfc— Andrew Nickerson (@andrewnickerson) January 18, 2016
