Stan Collymore has written on Boylesports.com that Liverpool midfielder Emre Can can become a world-class player.
The former Liverpool striker believes that for Can to fulfil his potential, he needs to play like Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli.
“Emre Can, for me, can go onto be a world class central midfielder, but forget a defensive or attacking role, he just needs to do what Dele Alli is doing at Spurs which is so eye catching; namely do both, and do them well,” Collymore has written on Boylesports.com.
Can joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2014 and has done relatively well so far. The 22-year-old is a versatile player who can play as a midfielder, as a central defender or as a right-back.
The Germany international’s best position is central midfield, and that is the position that manager Jurgen Klopp needs to play him at all times.
Alli is arguably the best teenage footballer in the Premier League at the moment and has been superb so far this season.
The 19-year-old midfielder has scored five goals and created 24 chances in 20 Premier League appearances so far this campaign.
The England international has a pass accuracy of 77% and a shot accuracy of 58%, and has won 20 headers, 16 dribbles and 33 tackles.
