Report: West Ham and Derby monitor Ravel Morrison but Bournemouth and Swansea favourites

Ravel Morrison

Bournemouth and Swansea are said to be most interested in Ravel Morrison.

West Ham have surprisingly been linked to Ravel Morrison by The Sun, a player they released a year ago.

The Sun claim Bournemouth and Swansea City are showing a strong interest in signing the attacking midfielder from Lazio, where he has failed to make an impact this season.

Both teams are said to want to sign him on loan, while the paper intriguingly claim West Ham are 'monitoring developments'.

The fourth club The Sun claim are showing an interest are Championship promotion hopefuls Derby County.

The former England under-21 international is regarded as one of the brightest talents England has produced in recent years, but whether it be an issue of attitude or application, Morrison has failed to settle at a club.

At West Ham he fell out with manager Sam Allardyce, but with the veteran boss sacked last May, it at least opens the door slightly for the 22-year-old to return.

On one hand it makes sense for Morrison to try and stick it out in Italy to complete a full season to see if he can turn his fortunes around, but if he has been instructed to find a loan move then a return to England is a natural option.

Given that he is considered somewhat of a risky buy, a loan deal makes sense for interested clubs, and if he performs well could see even more interest mount for his services in the summer.
