Queens Park Rangers are looking to strengthen a number of areas in their squad in the January transfer window.
QPR are set to sign Washington from Peterborough United, after agreeing a fee reported to be in the region of £2.5 million for the 23-year-old striker.
The former Newport County man is set to become Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s first signing at Loftus Road, but Rangers want to do more business in January.
QPR have had a disappointing season to date, and they are building a squad capable of helping them to start climb the table over the second half of the campaign.
Rangers have recently lost Charlie Austin to Southampton, and Hasselbaink wants another forward, even after Washington’s arrival.
The R’s next priority is signing a left-back, though, as they feel that it is an area of weakness in their current team.
Hasselbaink has limited options to utilise on the left hand side of his defence, and he is eager to make an addition to solve this problem in the coming weeks.
