Tottenham Hotspur winger Andros Townsend was willing to move to West Bromwich Albion or Watford, according to The Times.
However, the report claims, the England international now looks likely to join Newcastle United on loan until the end of the season.
“Andros Townsend looks likely to move to Newcastle United although it is not clear whether it will be a permanent deal,” states the report in The Times.
“The Tottenham Hotspur winger was willing to move to West Bromwich Albion or Watford, but only on loan. Tottenham value him at £14 million and so far indicated that they would only consider a sale.”
Townsend has been on the books of Tottenham his entire career so far, but he has found it hard to play regularly for the first team since last season.
The 24-year-old has managed to make just appearances in the Premier League so far this campaign, creating only two chances in the process.
The Englishman has been playing with the Tottenham Under-21 recently, and he should be fit to play in the Premier League for whichever club he joins this month.
Townsend is unlikely to get much playing time at Spurs between now and the end of the season, and it would be best for him if he leaves White Hart Lane.
