Report: Fiorentina monitoring West Ham’s Mauro Zarate

West Ham United forward Mauro Zarate is reportedly wanted by Fiorentina and Malaga in the January transfer window.

Fiorentina are interested in signing Mauro Zarate from West Ham United in the January transfer window, according to The Times.

“Angelo Ogbonna, the West Ham defender, has attracted interest from Roma, while Mauro Zarate, the east London club’s striker, is being monitored by Fiorentina,” claims the report in The Times.

According to a recent report in Marca, Spanish club Malaga are interested in securing the services of Zarate.

The 28-year-old forward has been on the books of West Ham since 2014. The Argentine has featured in 15 Premier League matches so far this season, scoring three goals and creating 20 chances in the process.

Zarate has a pass accuracy of 85% and a shot accuracy of 52%, and has won one header, 21 dribbles and 22 tackles.

Fiorentina are fourth in the Serie A table at the moment with 38 points from 20 matches, just six points behind leaders Napoli.

Paulo Sousa’s side have a chance of winning the Europa League this season. The Florence-based outfit have progressed to the round-of-32 stage of the European competition and will take on Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur for a place in the last 16.
