Aston Villa are one step closer to signing Lovre Kalinic, Alfredo Pedulla reports.
The 25-year-old was the subject of a £4.9 million (€6.5m) bid from Villa, which has been accepted by Hajduk Split.
Besiktas made an approach worth roughly £3 million yesterday, but the larger fee from Villa is the first to be accepted.
Kalinic himself would also prefer to move to England, despite interest from Besiktas and the Italian Serie A.
With Villa pushing ahead to sign the Croatian international goalkeeper, they submitted the offer, and having seen it accepted, they can start talks with Kalinic now.
The report claims a move is close to being finalised, with just the signatures to be written on the deal by both the player and Aston Villa.
He is set to travel to the Midlands for a medical and to discuss personal terms this week.
Should everything go as planned, Villa should be able to confirm the deal so Kalinic is available for selection this weekend.
