The Gunners have suffered a number of injuries to star players this season, with several first team players currently on the injury list.
They have struggled in midfield in particular, with both Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain filling in in central roles in recent weeks.
Similarly Mathieu Flamini has done an admirable job of replacing compatriot Francis Coquelin in the defensive midfield role.
Their lack of numbers is something Wenger has moved to address in the January transfer window, signing Mohamed Elneny to ease the burden on his midfield.
That is set to be alleviated further, with Tomas Rosicky, Coquelin and Jack Wilshere are all set to return to training this month, according to the Daily Mail.
Striker Danny Welbeck is also set for a come back as well, with him and Coquelin having started running already.
The return of Coquelin will be the most anticipated though, with the defensive midfielder having been sorely missed since picking up a knee injury in November.
