Graham set for Blackburn move

Sunderland Gates

HITC Sport understands Sunderland striker is on verge of move to Blackburn.

Sunderland striker Danny Graham is undergoing a medical at Blackburn Rover ahead of a loan move to Ewood Park, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Graham has found first-team chances hard to come by at Sunderland this season, making just four starts in the Premier League and 12 appearances in total.

The recent signing of former Hull City striker Dame N'Doye from Trabzonspor has pushed Graham further down the pecking order at the Stadium of Light.

Black Cats boss Sam Allardyce is happy to let Graham move on so that he can free up some space in his squad.

Graham, who has yet to score this season, has spent time out on loan at Hull, Middlesbrough and Wolves during the last couple of season after finding himself out of favour at Sunderland.

Blackburn boss Paul Lambert has been looking to bolster his attacking options and he sees Graham as a key addition to his plans.

Rovers have failed to win in their six games in the Championship and Lambert wants to bring in Graham to help fire the goals to lift his side up the table.

Blackburn have agreed a loan deal until the end of the season for Graham and they move could become permanent in the summer with the striker out of contract at Sunderland at the end of the season.
