The Venezuelan international has been linked with Aston Villa.
According to a recent report from Dutch newspaper De Gelderlander, Aston Villa are considering a move for NEC Nijmegen striker Christian Santos, and now we know exactly how much it will cost to get him.
The player himself has taken to Twitter to explain that a club outside the top four in their division will only have to pay €300,000 for the 27-year-old and Villa certainly fit into that category as they seek to climb off the bottom of the Premier League.
That equates to around £231,000 for a striker who has scored an impressive 14 goals in 21 matches this season.
With a total of 37 goals in 58 appearances for Nijmegen, 26 in 64 for AS Eupen and 28 in 78 for Armenia Bielefeld II there is no doubt Santos has the goal-scoring nous to be a hit at Villa Park, and for such a small fee he would certainly be a risk worth taking.
Villa look to have turned a slight corner in their bid for top flight survival after picking up four points in their last two matches. However they may have to strengthen their squad further if they are to have any chance of climbing out of the bottom three and staying out.
Santos is on a fine run of form this season and if he could maintain that in England he could yet be an unlikely saviour for Villa manager Remi Garde.
