Murphy said: “I think they’ll mix it [starting XIs] up. I think Leicester might go a bit stronger than Tottenham. I think Tottenham still being in Europe, and thinking they have a chance in the league, will mean he [Pochettino] mixes it up. I think Leicester will just edge it.”
Murphy has predicted a victory for the Foxes, who are playing at home.
Both those games were at White Hart Lane, and Leicester will be hoping to end the season unbeaten against Spurs by winning this upcoming game on Wednesday evening. The first meeting between the two clubs came back in August, which ended 1-1 at the King Power Stadium.
Having both played on Saturday, and in the midst of a crazy run of fixtures, it is likely that both Claudio Ranieri and Mauricio Pochettino will make some changes from their usual starting XIs.
Murphy has expected both managers to mix their selections up, although he believes Leicester will name a stronger XI than Spurs for the tie.
And, for Murphy, this stronger XI could just prove the difference in what he has predicted to end up as a win - and progress to the fourth round - for Ranieri’s impressive Leicester side.
