Randall has made three first team appearances so far this season.
Young Liverpool defender Connor Randall is hoping for another opportunity to put his case forward for a first team place at Anfield when the Reds take on Exeter City in a replay of their third round FA Cup tie at Anfield.
Randall has made three appearances for the Reds so far this season in cup competitions, and he is hoping to make it four when the Reds line up in their re-match against their League Two opponents tomorrow night.
Manager Jurgen Klopp fielded an unfamiliar starting XI when the two sides met at St James' Park in the first game - which ended 2-2 following goals from Jerome Sinclair and Brad Smith, and there could be changes made to the squad again as the Liverpool boss looks to keep much of his first team as fresh as possible.
Randall told the official Liverpool website: “He’s [Klopp] shown that he’s not afraid to use the younger players so you know you’re there and that you can be used at times. Most importantly, you’ve got to get ready for it and work hard.”
It is expected the 20-year-old will start at right-back as he is the only available cover for Nathaniel Clyne right now, as Jon Flanagan continues to work his way back from injury - while Brad Smith is likely to take the place of Alberto Moreno on the left side of the field.
It's unclear whether Klopp will make changes on the same scale as he did 11 days earlier for the replay given that it looks as if the cups could take on greater significance for Liverpool this season as their hopes of a Champions League place via the league was dealt a blow with defeat to Manchester United at the weekend.
During his games so far this season, Randall may have started games slowly but does grow into them as it goes on, though his game does improve when he has someone inside him with that bit more experience.
