Bannan moved to Wednesday from Crystal Palace during the summer transfer window, and he has quickly settled in at Hillsborough.
The Scotland international has impressed with his performances in the heart of Wednesday’s midfield, and Bannan puts his good form down to Carvalhal’s management style.
“It has been easy for me because Carlos wants to play how I want to play,” Bannan said.
“I have taken to it straight away.
“He plays football that I want to play and that suits me. I have been lucky in finding a manager like that.
“Carlos came in and looked at the team and has seen what we can do and what style suits this team the most."
Bannan has already played 23 matches for Wednesday this season, and his good form was recently rewarded with a new contract.
The 26-year-old midfielder has committed his future to the Yorkshire side, and he looks set to continue to play a key part for the rest of the season.
Wednesday are battling for promotion in the Championship, and Bannan will be key to their chances.
The Owls are currently sitting inside the play off spaces in England’s second tier, with their next match coming against Reading at the weekend.
