Steve Archibald has claimed Messi might make the difference for Tottenham.
Just been watching this little guy play, would be a good signing for Spurs, mighy just make the difference pic.twitter.com/SMJDy0ZwUY— Steve Archibald (@SteveArchibald8) January 17, 2016
Archibald made the remark whilst watching Barcelona thrash Athletic Club 6-0 on Sunday evening, with Messi netting his 10th league goal of the season.
The 28-year-old has 19 goals and nine assists in 23 games in all competitions this season, and was named the Ballon d’Or winner last week.
He is undoubtedly the best player in the world, and Archibald is correct to say he would be the difference maker for Spurs - as he would be for any club.
Messi is constantly linked with Premier League sides, but a move to England looks increasingly unlikely with every passing year, and the Argentine will surely see out his career with Barcelona.
Archibald, who played for both Spurs and Barca during a successful career, was joking with his remark, and he may be aiming a bit too high for any signings Tottenham make this month.
