Should Crystal Palace make a move for Emmanuel Adebayor in the January transfer window?
Former Leicester City midfielder Robbie Savage said on the Matchday Live with Fletch & Sav show on BT Sport 1 on Saturday morning (January 16) that Crystal Palace should make a move for Emmanuel Adebayor in the January transfer window.
“I think I would take him until the end of the season because I think when he goes to a club, the initial burst he gets,” said Savage.
“Fifth, sixth is a possibility for a team like Palace this year, so I would take a punt on him for the rest of the season,” added the former Wales international.
Adebayor is without a club at the moment, having left Tottenham Hotspur in September.
Palace manager Alan Pardew was recently quoted as saying by the club’s official Twitter page that he is interested in signing the 31-year-old striker in the January transfer window.
The Togolese knows the Premier League inside out, but is he good enough to help Palace to a top-six or a top-five finish in the Premier League this season?
Other interested clubs
Palace are not the only club interested in Adebayor, who is available on a free transfer this month.
According to The Times, reigning Premier League champions Chelsea are interested in the 31-year-old striker.
The Mirror recently claimed that Adebayor has held talks with Chelsea, West Ham United and Watford.
