West Ham

West Ham United are looking to improve the quality they possess in their youth ranks.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, West Ham United are interested in signing Ipswich Town youngster Sam Ford.

The Hammers scouts have been impressed by Ford's performances at at under-18 level, where he has scored prolifically this season.

Ford looks to have the potential to play at a high level, and West Ham are keen to take a closer look at him.

They have welcomed Ford to train with their development squad for the week, as they assess whether he has the potential to play at Upton Park in the future.

The Hammers have a number of exciting prospects currently breaking through at youth team level, and they believe Ford could improve the quality of their youth squad even further.

If Ford does move to West Ham permanently he would be unlikely to play in the first-team this season as they are performing so well.

The Hammers are competing for a spot in Europe, and manager Slaven Bilic has been more keen to loan out his top youngsters than give them regular action first-team action of late.
